do any of you use gmail as your universal account...and get your yahoos ,etc forwarded to gmail..and then set up your gmail ONLY with your BB..

What are you trying to achive? Some people are getting too creative for their own good, and you may find plenty of those here- it does not mean you should follow their advise unless you know what you want and what you can get.

You can acheive that by polling both yahoo and gmail seperately. If you have yahoo foward to gmail, it could take two to three times longer to receive your yahoo mail.

I do not find that there is a lag in Yahoo mail delivery and I run it thru Gmail.

I have 4 different e-mail addys sent to gmail and they are all then instantly sent to my BB with the filtering setup on Gmail. Why POP when you can have instant delivery?
