| OK, I could probably answer this better, but my vision is blurry from a lack of food and too much coffee. I'll just tell you how I have it set up on BIS.
I have only a limited number of email addresses that should be legitimately going to my blackberry.net address (mail forwarded from work and my wife), so I set up filters for those addresses only. I then check "When no filters apply: do not send messages to handheld." This way I only receive messages from those specific addresses and not any spam (because my sisters OE addressbook got broadcast across the Internet and I now get lots of it).
I assume the opposite setting "When no filters apply: forward messages to handheld" would be for the opposite situation, when there are more addresses you want to receive from than you don't.
