The setup here at my company is for a small number of users using BIS on Cingular, T-Mobile, and Verizon. While not optimal, it does provide some flexibility for each person to maintain their own data plans, etc. for personal use as well as business use.

My question is that there are 2 people here using Cingular (and the 8700c) that have recently started having their "From" address set to some weird value rather than the expected value. Their address is being sent as:

!bis-xfirstname.lastname@mycingular.blackberry.net

when it SHOULD be:



Is anyone else having this problem? This started for us about 2 weeks back (perhaps related to Cingular 2.0 upgrade) and is not affecting other providers. If this is affecting others, do any of you guys know what I can do to fix the problem?

On the BlackBerry, open the Email Settings icon and resend the service books.

On the blackberry, in Service Books, delete service book with the name WebClient.

After that resend the service books.

When composing email, the teop line says "Send Using:" followed by either:
OR [Default] OR Web Client.

On my 7250, [Default] = Web Client, which causes the odd !bis From address.

As I haven;t figured out how to to change the Send Using Defualt to , I scroll to the Send Using field, press the scroll wheel, and select

Thanks all. It looks like Berry One's suggestion did the trick. There was some sort of hangover from BIS 1.0. The webclient service book entry was still hanging around. Once we deleted that entry, the !bis-x addresses vanished.
