Default MMS Problem with Nextel

I have not been able to retrieve text messages since about last Friday except for a short time late Friday night. I even tried going to various locations other then my home / office thinking it might be a tower problem.

I use a Blackberry 7100i and it only seems to be affecting messages sent to [email address] not messages sent to [email address] .

Yesterday I spent almost an hour on the phone between Tier 2 and Tier 3 Tech Support and got nowhere. I think they even tried to rebuild my text messaging with no luck.

Any Nextel Tech Support people here want to chime in. Iíll be more then happy to provide a ticket number and would be grateful for any help.

I have the same problem with my 7100i; for whatever reason it cannot use that kind of relay service like the other Nextel phones can. You can either send the mms to an email, or use TeleFlip, which would be: [email address].

I just spent over an hour on the phone with Tier 3 Tech Support and they say it should work. Two techs worked on the problem and got nowhere. The final result was there had been a problem in the past that they thought was fixed thatís not and there are others having the problem.

The Tech I talked to finally said they had to send a ticket up to MMS engineering and that she would get back to me.

OK It's been 24 hours and nothing back from Nextel so I called Tier 2. My luck that I get a new person there that can't make heads or tails of the screen and can't find a supervisor. I called Corporate Solutions in Reston who said they can't do anything about it so I called the number that was in my caller ID from when Tier 3 called me yesterday. Turned out it's just a switchboard at Nextel in TX.

Now I'm going thru the whole thing again......Tier 2 then a supervisor approval to send me to Tier 3 and then the long wait to get a Tier 3 tech. So far I've been on the phone for 21 minutes trying to get to Tier 3.
