Default When is the last time it crashed?

Please Login to Remove!

My cousin, has a MDA and we are always arguing about who's device is better. He basically has to reset the thing at least once a day. I just want to know when is the last time anyones Blackberry crashed, and how long has it been since you had to reset it. One thing I know, not many PDAs can beat the battery life of a Berry. I'll start

My BB has been on non-stop for about 3+ months (in and out of charger), can't remember the last time it crashed, over 3 months ago though.

I have an 8700 - never has crashed or needed to be reset except when installing a new app that forces you to reboot.

When loading apps ~15MB (MSDict) through Application Loader.

I had a 7100t for a year and my current 8700g for four months and not a single crash on either one.

In 6 1/2 years the ONLY time I saw a BlackBerry that did NOT have (or ever have) ANY 3rd party apps installed crash was one whose SIM card was not fully seated! Re-seating it fixed the problem.

I've went through two 850's because the screen lost too many pixels and I couldn't read text, but otherwise the devices worked fine.

I dropped a 7100 more than once from 3 to 4 feet onto cement with no apparent ill effects other than dings.

I had a 7230 (I think) from t-Mobile that I had unlocked and moved to AT&T right before the merger with Cingular that started rebooting spontaneously, but I did have several 3rd party APPS installed. If I recall correctly, uninstalling them did not fix the problem, and I got a new 7100 to replace it before I tried reloading the OS. However, I've since seen 3rd party software that didn't uninstall properly - both through deleting the app on the BB and through App Loader - for which I had to use the Java Loader to remove some files which I didn't do either.

I've dropped my 8700c onto a tiled floor and it didn't even get a scratch or ding. My wife's second hand 8700c has a nasty nick on one of its corners that looks like it took a dive onto cement, and it works fine.

In short, Blackberries are TOUGH. You'll most likely replace it to upgrade to get the latest features before you'll wear it out!

If you stick with only the software provided, it's an incredibly stable and SECURE platform (Something you can't say about Symbian devices which have had 55 viruses reported this year).
