Default I turned e-mail off and it will not come back

Please Login to Remove!

I went on vacation and for the first time ever turned off my Blackberry e-mail by selecting Phone Only under profiles. I tried renabling through default or vibrate, which is where I had it set before, and no dice. I no longer can access e-mail or the internet.

Can anyone tell me where I went wrong since my wonderful Alltel can't?

Eventually, someone will pass this way and either ask the following or tell you to do a search, so I'll go ahead and do the nice thing and suggest some things to do.

The question will be: are you on BES or BIS?

If you're on either BIS or BES, pull the battery for a few seconds and see if that doesn't clear it up. Failing that, if you're on BIS, log into your service providers BIS website and resend the service books to your handheld. You may want to follow that with another restart and/or going to Options and look for Host Routing Tables. Open that and click the list anywhere and select "Register Now."

If none of this works, I'd call Alltel back and ask them exactly what you're paying them for if they can't help you

This should give you something to do until someone with actual technical knowledge sees your post.

Try resending your service book if mister.zero's advice didn't work. Changing the profile doesn't stop emails, its just stops notifying you of new messages.

You may want to do a Register Now again. Options->Advanced Options->Host Routing Table; click trackwheel, select Register Now.

Some things are solved faster and with more expertise on this forum than calling customer service. I would much rather talk to the people on this forum for help than customer service. If someone is writing for prices of plans or devices, then please do call customer service.
