Default Yahoo IM and Windows Live IM

Please Login to Remove!

So Yahoo IM and Windows Live messenger can now communicate with each other. But not, it seems on Yahoo on the Blackberry. I can add Windows Live users on my PC client using Yahoo but not on the BB. It doesn't even show them listed as offline. Does anyone know if this will be possible in the future ?

I've just worked out that the Yahoo system will deliver a messange from a Windows Live messenger user if your Yahoo messenger on the BB is logged off. When you log back in, it will deliver the Windows Live message telling you it was an offline message. Maybe this means there will be a new Yahoo Messenger for BB which allows full intergration with Windows Live.

I tested this on a couple of machines yesterday. You need Yahoo Messenger Beta 8 to communicate with Windows Live Messenger Beta 8 users. Older versions of either don't seem to be able to handle the cross network communications.

Now this is all on a PC. I have no doubt Blackberry versions of any software that uses either of the two networks will need to be updated to talk to the other networks.

Of course, if you're using one of the multi-network IM clients (I'm using IM+), this is completely irrelevant!
