Hi guys,

Is there a way to deleted email via my Blackberry 8700G from Gmail? I always select the email I want to deleted and use the delete from "mailbox & handheld" option but when I login to my Gmail account the email is still there? Any advice would help me greatly.

I would like to know this too. I try to reconcile, and still no dice.

There is no reconciling with a pop email address. You only get this feature with BIS if you are doing it with IMAP (like AOL) or with yahoo plus....and obviously with BES.....so sorry, you cant reconcile with gmail from deleting on the handheld.

I have several POP accounts setup in my BIS 2.0, one is a gmail account. My primary pop email is hosted & my domain and when I delete emails on my BB, they delete from the POP server.

To get my pop to delete the email on this one account that I delete on my BB, I set the following in settings.

Settings ---> Advanced Options ---> Message Services. In this section, I have "Messaging (CMIME)". Select change option and you wll have a list of the emails accounts setup in BIS.

Not sure if this is specific to this one pop account as I have not tried with the others. The other accounts do not delete email like the one I have setup in settings.

balibe - your right; w/ BIS 2.0 and POP accounts the email does get deleted from the POP server if you choose to "delete on mailbox and handheld"

however, this does not delete it from the Gmail website - only from their POP server.

(also you set up the reconcile options under messages-> options -> email reconcilliation then choose which account you want to edit and then choose to delete on mailbox; mailbox and handhled; or prompt)

With the exception of Yahoo mail, I don't think reconciliation is possible on POP accounts.

It may be that balibe's hosted account above has a server side setting to remove emails on the server when retrieved, although that setting is usually on the client.

I looked in my control panel, no option like you mentioned. The emails stay when read from the BB & they stay when read wth my laptop with Outlook set to leave messages on the server.

The emails only started deleting since Nextel upgraded to BIS 2.0 and I got the option to Delete on Mailbox & Handheld. This particular account is setup/hosted with DomainDirect.com.
