Default Funny Treo story.

Please Login to Remove!

So yesterday my friend and I are getting mexican. We are about 3 seats away from a dude with a laptop and Treo. Half way into our awesome meal the dude tossed his Treo on the ground and cursed lightly. He rubbed his head and responded to an email. I thought it was sad. I wish I had my BB or I would have shown him.

I'm sure it's sweet in-between the reboots. </sarcasm>

I am sure the guy is fed up with some half way working application that the BlackBerry has absolutely no capability of.

I actually think that he was probably trying to tether, and between re-boots, couldnt email anyone.

I'll stick with a device that I never re-boot

take it from a guy that carried a 650 for around 6 month. when you compare the Treo to my current Blackberry device (an 8700c), the BB wins.

It's not all that great. I had the 700p and I couldn't stand how it would freeze whenever I used the Opera browser.

Many people have trouble with phones other than blackberrys. from experience I would say that my newest phone comes closest,
which is the cingular 8125. great phone overall and not one lock up. I use it just as hard as the berry too.

EV-DO on my Sprint 7130e is sweet indeed. Verizon also has it but I understand that their data plan/usage is more restricted than Sprint's. Not sure about any others.

I have the Verizon
EVO and they have an "all you can eat" plan. I'm running on the 7100e;

When I had a 650 I was anxiously awaiting the 700p. Then somehow or another I got introduced the blackberry and I have never looked back.

It tends to be the general opinion around here. The Palm/Windows OS is good when it comes to application variety...but other than that, the resets drive a person crazy.

I sure have to agree with you on that one! I've just switched from a Treo 650p, when I first had it I thought it was great, it crashed much less than my XDA!
However I put up with it's odd crashes and slowness for nearly a year before I got my 8700g just 3 days ago! So far it has been rock solid, no hiccups, freezes or reasons to remove the battery!
It's very responsive too.

What I meant was that I heard there were restrictions on what you could do: no online gaming, certain things you couldn't download, etc. None of that really bothered me; I just happened to go with Sprint because it was a few dollars less when I factored in the voice plan I wanted. I hear Verizon's coverage is excellent so I'm certainly not trying to discourage anyone from using them.

my 7250 uses EV-DO, the thing is though, it's like putting a waterfall through a straw since it can dl everything, but it still needs to draw everything, run scripts, etc, and so it's still not all that fast.

that said, i do like the phone, but if the internet rates were the same price for treo, i would probably have kept my 650, i've had a number of resets with this thing, though most were google talk related, every time i sign in it just says "command failed", and won't let me press "ok", so i have to take out the battery.

I got a Kyocera PC card for my laptop for Verizon's wireless broadband access...it works pretty good. However after dropping Verizon's voice service on my phone and moving to a BB 8700c with Cingular, I wish I hadn't signed up for the mobile broadband (6-months into a 2-year commitment.....ugghh!!)

I never realized how efficient the BB is for messaging and even some moderate web surfing. I had considered the Treo 700 with Verizon, but after so many issues with my HP PocketPC and stories of reboots/lock-ups from some other guys at the office that use the Treo, I decided BB was the way to go... I can see why they call these "crackberries"...

i had a treo until i dropped it in a toilet...they are nice to look at but when it comes down to functionablility the BB wins hands down, ive had mine for a couple of weeks using it hard too and it has never frozen on me and it is quick doing whatever...you try to switch between programs on the treo like the BB and you will be rebooting all day.

I had 5 treo's in the matter of 2 weeks. All were breaking and in the same time I would have another coming UPS from Cing. Business. I finally traded it for the BB8700. The only time it reboots is when I remove a program of when I ask it too! Palm is a pile of shit. I wasted so much time and hours yelling at the 650 when I could of been spending time with my wife and kids.
