I'm not very savvy with the email stuff, but I've been doing some searching here for ways to reduce spam.
It seems that most here are getting spam into there
address and it's being picked up by the Blackberry account and then forwarded to the unit. This isn't my problem. Spam messages are not going to my normal address. At least I don't think so, because I can't see them on my server.
Somehow my bb BIS address "email@example.com" is the one getting spamed.
I assume I would have to close that account and reopen it under a different name is that correct? I can't change the "firstname.lastname@example.org" account any other way, correct?
I'm guessing spam filters would not help since anything sent directly to that address would be sent instantly to the device.
