Default Creating GMail accoung on BB

Please Login to Remove!

I want to use GMail for my blackberry. I currently am using my AOL account but I'm on so many enewsletters and mailing list that the BB goes off every few minutes.

How do I delete AOL and add the GMail. I've gone through set up personal email but its not working. I figured out how to do it for AOL, but today, I'm at a loss. (must be the heat)

Thanks for all your help.

Im assuming you are using BIS....if so, log onto your web client and delete the AOL account and add the Gmail account. If you are BIS 2.0 you can add the email account directly from your bb.

If you are on BIS and want to use Gmail you should also look into the setup described in the link below. It will give you instant e-mail, no polling.

Default Loading GMAIL

Not sure what BIS is, been seeing in mentioned in alot of the posts here.

I've printed out the article and will try to follow that. I'm usually good with this stuff. I think its the over excitement of finally getting a blackberry. I've wanted one for so long.

Thanks for the help

BIS is Blackberry Internet Service- this is what you have if you are using the BB with your service provider and not thru a server@ a company. The other option is called BES which would be thru a server at a company and your IT guy can help you.

What an excellent link. Thanks so much for the information. I know this has been discussed gazillions of times but here is a perfect example of how it is surely no great harm in rehashing a topic from time-to-time.

g-mail blocks the forwading to the bb so you have to set it up to forward to your bb e-mail account. your replys will always have your g-mail account tho. i had this problem when i first linked my g-mail to my bb and cingular squared it away for me.

I think we may be on 2 gazillions but you are right sometimes its hard to find info so that is why I did the page. If you think that it can be improved from a new user standpoint, let me know. Beware of the warning at the top of the page though. The info is as detailed as Dead Man's Chest. There are many traps.
