| Do you receive emails/alerts at the time of morning you typically receive calls?
CDMA devices (while in non-EVDO coverage) are not particularly efficient at switching from "data" and "voice" mode. The standard does not support simultaneous voice and data. If a call comes in during or within a few seconds of actively sending/receiving data, the call goes to VM.
EVDO significantly improves on this by suspending the data session immediately to allow the call to go through.
GSM/GPRS/EDGE devices are better than 1X, but not quite as good as EVDO.
The "Holy Grail" of technologies are UMTS/HSPDA, and EVDO REV. A (when it becomes available), which both support simultaneous voice/data. Thus significantly reducing the amount of calls going to VM....
There could also be a problem with the cell network in your neighbourhood....these may be high usage periods in your area. |
