Default Ringing and going to v-mail

Please Login to Remove!

We have the BB 7290 from Cingular and a few of my users are saying that when they get a call it rings twice, then goes to v-mail. Is there anywhere to change the settings to where it rings more before going to v-mail?

I also have a few users that are having similar ringing issues. I have a user that the device never rings. It automatically goes to voicemail.
Tee other 2 users, have the same issue, only sparactically. The device sometimes rings normally, and other times it goes directly to voicemail without ringing.

I have checked Do Not Disturb, and it is not turned on. The device is set to ring for the active profile.

I am not sure what else I can check. Cingular is supposedly looking into it, but I have not received any feedback from them.

I never had this problem. However, I know that when I first switched to Cingular (I had a Motorola V551 phone), I was able to change the time delay (in seconds) before the call was forwarded to voice mail. Do a Google Search fro GSM Codes. I think the codes are universal and can be inputted from any phone. I know the code to increase the delay worked on Cingular, but I forget what it is. You might try this and see if it solves your problem. Here are a couple of links:

I think the Destination Number in the string is your voice mail number. I also think that Cingular's default is 15 (maybe 20) seconds before Voice Mail answers and you can change it in 5 second intervals up to 30 seconds.

Chris
