Default Does anyone know how to change the Provider Image?

Please Login to Remove!

I know it's part of the firmware, but I think someone, somewhere has done this before.

Thanks,
David

Nope, can't be done. You can unlock the device and use it with another provider, but that provider image will stick with the device.

thanks. I was afraid that was the answer. What about uploading images if you dont have BES. Is there some freeware that will allow you to upload using the Desktop Manager.

Thanks,
David

You can't upload images using Desktop Manager. You can email them to yourself as an attachment or use a wap uploader like www.coolservice.dk . Upload the photo on coolservice and then retrieve it with your BB.

I think he's talking about the provider image that comes up on the screen when you start the phone.

Not all carriers use (ie. pay RIM extra) for branded customizations.

Look for your vendor.xml file under Common Files/Res in Motion/AppLoader

Is it blank?

Wirelessly posted (Cingular-Blue 7290: BlackBerry7290/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/101)

My original ATTW 7290 had their logo on start-up. My warranty replacement was a refurbished unit with only the BlackBerry logo. The refurb has a much faster start-up or at least it seemed.
