Hi Guys.

I'm looking for advice on which are the best mobile service providers for the DC area. I'm looking to get either a BlackBerry 7250 or 8700.

I've heard that Verizon's coverage is the best, but my only problem with them is that they don't have their version of the 8700 out yet. However, I'm leaning towards Verizon using a 7250 because of their coverage on the Metro. I'll be spending a lot of time down in the tunnels unfortunately.

Is there anyone out there with an 8700c or 8700g in the Takoma Park and DC area that are happy with the coverage that Cingular and T-mobile provide for this area? I've yet to find anyone who is. If you're out there, let me know...

I'm about 15 minutes outside of DC in VA. Cingular is great for reception in most places, its only when you get deep in neighborhoods and such that its not as great. I'd go for Cingular if I were you (plus the 8700c is the best of the 8700 series

I've had verizon for 12 years or so, but finally dumped them for cingular, the 8700c and have been impressed how comparable the coverage is. Was in DC, McLean, up to PA on 83 today, no worse than my old verizon account. Pretty good coverage....still have issues around goddard nasa...grin

If youre going to spend a lot of time on the metro - go with verizon. they have set themselves up with the metro to make sure you have service, especially in the tunnels and while moving. If that is not a huge deal, I'd go with t-mo. Im in the DC area and have fantastic service with t-mo

I used to live in College Park with my 8700g and T-Mobile had great coverage everywhere I went, except in train tunnels.
