I am currently running 4.0 and having issues with wireless reconciliation. What is the typical lag time from reading a message on your handheld and seeing it as read on your pc? And vice versa? I thought it was 15 minutes.

Also, when the wireless reconciliation does not seem to be working, when you manually "reconcile now" it still doesn't work.

Any ideas?

I would think the BES administrator sets these times. Have you contacted your BES admin?

how is your signal? BB's usually reconcile immediately, sometimes I get the email on my BB b4 my Outlook. if your signal strength is good, then I would try the old removing your battery trick (like rebooting Windows) & see if that helps.

I always get the message on my blackberry before it enters outlook. That is not the problem. The problem is when I read a message in outlook or on my device, it does not show up as read on the other device. If I read it in outlook it does not show it as "read" on my device.

I am currently the BES admin and I am not aware of how you change the setting of how long the message takes to reconcile. I was told 15 minutes by somebody else and didn't know if that was the default and couldn't be chagned or if it can be changed. If it can be changed, where do you change it?

ya, i think 15 - 30 mins is the time taken to sync that... i am trying to find whether there is any registry tweak to shorten that time lag...

BES delivery and reconciliation is supposed to be nearly instantaneously, although in practice it can take a FEW minutes. In fact, there are times I get a message on my BlackBerry before I get it in Outlook, all be it by just a few seconds. And yes, I'm running Outlook in Connected, Uncached mode.

It's SUPPOSED to be a max of 15 minutes for BIS, and nearly instantaneous for email sent you your blackberry.net email account, which is pretty much what I've observed, although scanned POP mail can run a bit over that at times, but 30 minutes, no way! If you're seeing 30 minute times between the message's timestamp in the message list, and the time stamp on the email itself, something is wrong.

One thought - make sure devices that have the setting Network to send over under Options --> SMS is set to GPRS Preferred on devices that support the setting.

yes, incoming mails are almost instantaneous... faster than workstation... but I was talking about read/unread status... when i read a mail in my PC, it takes around 20 mins to be reflected in the BB...

And although I see it all the time, it's not supposed to be that way as far as I know.

Nor have I found a sure way to fix it. I've tried:

• Updating Firmware if needed
• The SMS setting I mentioned above
• Resending the Desktop[CMIME] Service Book
• Resending ALL Desktop Service Books
• Wiping and doing a full Enterprise Activation
• Removing and re-establishing the user's account on the BES

All have worked. None consistently! I'd suggest trying those - in that order. If you're the BES Admin, maybe the last item third. It's difficult for us to get a hold of Admins, so it's last on my list.
