Default Am I missing a setting?

Please Login to Remove!

I use the Blackberry 7280.

I am trying to send out a mass text message to maybe 10 people to plan a luncheon. I cannnot for the life of me figure out how to do this. I have searched the forum and read the manual with no progress. Is there some third-party software I need to download? I do not have unlimited data or anything, I mainly use my Blackberry for a PDA/cell phone; not for e-mail at this time. The closest thing I can find is making a Group of the people but that's for e-mail addresses and I can't use it to text message them all.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I am not sure if I understand you. And frankly I do not have the 7280.

But on my BB 8700, I can send a text message to several people at once.

Compose SMS
Find one of the people that you are going to send the SMS to
Click them - enter
Click the trackwheel again
click "add recipient"
find another person
Press enter
do the same thing.

Compose the SMS message

Send it.

Well I'm no expert on this but I am confused. MMS stands for Multimedia Messaging Service and is most definitely supported on the Blackberry. Does mass text messaging uses the same acronym??

You are right, not sure on that one whether they use the same acronym. But I have mistaken his problem with MMS, but i do know that the 7280 doesn't support MMS, or EMS. only SMS? As for mass messages, not 100% sure, sorry for the confusion

No problem. Sounds like Airmark1 has the solution anyway (at least for the 8700, not sure about the 7280.)

Well, when I go to "Compose" I can send an SMS but it does not allow me to select multiple people to send the text message to. Is "Airmark1" a third party software client that will facilitate this? Remember, we want text messages, not e-mails.

Thanks.

Yeah, Airmark1 is me...not a porgram..

But your right, at least on my 8700, that when you select compose, you only get ONE choice for a text message recipient. Select one of them and select enter....Then click the trackwheel. There should be a drop down menu that says.

Send
Save Draft
-----
Add Recipient
-------
Edit Auto Text
--------
Show Symbols
---------
Close

Click Add Recipient

you can add several people.

Yeah - mine doesn't say that. My 7280 will open up the text message window and when I click the track wheel my options are:

Help
---
Paste
---
Send
Save Draft
---
Edit AutoText
---
Show Symbols
---
Close

:( is the 7280 failing me?
