Default It's unlocked?!?

Please Login to Remove!

I requested that T-Moblie unlock my 7100T, and just got an automated notification that my SIM was unlocked. So is there anyway to confirm this other than to put a new SIM card in and check? Thanks in advance, Sean

go to settings>options>advanced options>sim card. if next to sim card it says active your device is locked, if it says disabled then it is unlocked...

If your BlackBerry reads:

SIM: Disabled
Network: Disabled
Network Subset: Disabled
Service Provider: Disabled
Corporate: Disabled

then your handset is unlocked. If all fields show disabled except the field that reads Network and it reads Active then your handheld is locked.

Nitty, If your referring to the same area as junior i.e. "settings>options>advanced options>" then the only fields are:
Top - SIM Card: Security Disabled,
then ID and phone number below that....where would those other fields be checked?

From the SIM card screen, type in MEPD
to see the other fields.

No - they sent you an automated message, but did they send you the unlock code and did you follow the detailed instructions on how to unlock the phone?

Getting an automated response is different then getting and entering the unlock code.

More to follow? OK. You're right so far I have not received instructions or an unlock code. Thanks

OK so I followed the instructions and now Network = Inactive. Why not Disabled like the other fields? Just curious...

Here's what mine looks like. I got my Unlock code from Cingular and followed the instructions. Is mine unlocked now?

SIM Card: Security Disabled
SIM: Disabled
Network: Active
Network Subset: Disabled
Service Provider: Disabled
Corporate: Disabled

Network is the one you need to be concerned with.... if yours still says active, it is still locked.

Does this mean that the unlock code that they gave is not right? I followed the weird instructions to the T. What should be my next steps?

if you followed them to a T, then I'm not sure what to tell you.. but i will say this.... do not keep trying over and over again... i remember reading somewhere that after a certain number of failed unlocking attempts something happens and you cannot get it unlocked period. like some sort of safeguard.
