I broke the screen on my Blackberry 7290. You can no longer see anything but a color mixture, althought the phone does still turn on.
Cingular went ahead and sent me a new phone, they did not send me the box and all the contents though, which I lost from my first phone.
Problem is, all my contacts and scedules were saved on my phone, not my sim card, I went to a few stores and was told that if I bought the USB cable and went to cingular.com/blackberry I could download a program that will upload everything onto my computer.
I can't find the program I need anywhere.
Am I doing something wrong? Or is there any other solution?

You lost the USB cable and charger from your BlackBerry?

OK..

Go to BlackBerry and in the support section download DESKTOP MANAGER.

Install Desktop Manager.

Plug in your BlackBerry using the USB cable.

Use "Backup" to backup all of your data.

Plug in your new BB.

Use "Restore"

If you lost all of the stuff that came with the device, how do you charge it?

The charger is the only thing I didn't lose.

The charger (at least the one that came with the BB) is actually a USB cable connected to the wall charger at the end.

Everything is set up, but the Desktop Mananger continues to say Disconnected.

Look in Control Panel / System / Hardware / Device Manager. Everything look OK? Try another USB port.

It's def. reading it, when I go to options and connection settings, it's finding it. Just at the bottom it says Disconnected, and than right next to it.. Online.

I am pretty sure I have found the problem. Everytime I open the program a popup comes up saying..

Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client.

Only thing is, I've never used Microsoft Outlook and have no idea how to use it.

I have the same problem! I detects the BB but says disconnected. I tryed a few diffrent USB Cables and 3 diffrent computeres
