Unfortunately, certain third-party apps do not play nice with the device firewall enabled. Newer OS upgrades promise tighter restrictions with regards to firewall policy adherence, rendering certain third-party apps (bbSpell for users on BIS and PocketDay weather, stocks, RSS and integrated sports feeds, for example) useless when the device firewall is enabled.
