VeriChat Dead!

I got an email from [email address] (makers of Verichat) who confirmed development of their products has stopped since their acquisition by Intellisync and now by Nokia.

As much as I like it I don't want to renew a product that's not going to be further developed or supported. What's the second best IM app for Blackberry?

Post the contents of the email. I'm going with WebMessenger Mobile IM.

If you do AIM/MSN/ICQ, I would suggest Yak-On. I haven't had any major issues...actually, I've had no issues, just a lot of silly questions!! :)

BB4Life 08-04-2006 10:47 PM

Yeah, been with Yak-On for a year now, and had no issues at all!

adamlau 08-04-2006 10:57 PM

I am now am a subscriber to both VeriChat and WebMessenger services. If I could just combine the features of both, along with the tabbed interface of Yak-On...

I like ramble, and Googletalk. I only use AIM and google though.

Your title reads "Verichat Dead." This is clearly not true. Please refrain form posting falsehoods and B.S. again!!!!! We have sufficient politicians, lawyers, spin doctors and similar people in this world!

We'll have to agree to disagree. No longer being developed means dead to me.

The company was purchased for their IP not their products, and it's pretty obvious Nokia doesn't have much interest in developing Blackberry apps.

...if it's not going to get any better than it is today, then dead just about sums it up.
