The constant connection attempts to wwrex.com are taking a toll on device battery life. Short of enabling the firewall and denying connections, there is NO available setting to disable such attempts. See the following links:

For those IdeaMatrix and ToDoMatrix users who may be unaware of the persistent connection attempts:

Security Options > Firewall > Menu > Reset Settings and witness the daily barrage of attempts.

And the tips and hints pages are particularly annoying as registered users SHOULD NOT be subject to deal with daily instances of outright SPAM. This is compounded by the fact that there is no option to disable tips and hints.

The developers are aware of these issues, but may need a push from public opinion to expedite the resolution of the above mentioned annoyances. To current and prospective IdeaMatrix and ToDoMatrix users and all others: Comments, thoughts, suggestions?

Thanks for the heads up. I have been trying for the past two days to install ToDoMatrix, but have never had any luck in 'registering' my trial version. I kept getting a message about "Sorry...we cannot register your trial, so try again later". I got fed up with that message and have deleted the program.

After reading your post, I'm glad I did. I don't know why I even wanted to try the Application because it does not make use of the built-in BB databases.

I'm not a big fan of the tips page either but that's how it lets you know there is a new version available; this can certainly be done in email. However, I wouldn't call it spam even though I do get the headline hawk advert from time to time. These are tips on using the BB and their software. You can clear the tip screen by pressing any key and it takes you right to the software.

I also tried your suggestion to reset the firewall and found that for every rexwireless communication, I had about five from pocketday. I bought the software because it has an auto web backup and will have a web page so it wasn't critical for me to use the tasks in OL from my desktop. I guess having a manual reconcile and manual backup feature would solve the problem. But then if you didn't reconcile properly it would probably screw up the web/bb sync.

Although I agree with you in principal, I don't see these as show stoppers for using the software. There are other options out there and nothing like voting with your money to get a company to change.
