Default BIS poll-related question...

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

I'm running on Vodafone BIS. My vodafone mobile email address mail arrives instantly on my Blackberry, so I was thinking of setting a redirect on my main POP work account (which is down on my list of email accounts as its the one I have as the default sent option).

Anyway, is there any way I can keep my POP email as the default sent mail, but NOT have the BIS collect mail from it? At the moment, I get all mails twice...one instantly from the re-direct, then one later when the next poll of that account kicks in...

Thanks for listening.

Wirelessly posted (Cingular 7130c: BlackBerry7130/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

Set a filter in the BIS to not receive any mail.

I've tried that. It just filters out the main email address so no mail arrives. I also have other accounts that I want collected, so I can't turn off all mail (if indeed that is what you were suggesting?)

I'm not sure how that can help. Let me clarify my situation.
I have 5 or 6 email accounts all set up on a BIS. My default account is my primary work account...this is the one I need as my default 'sent' account on my Blackberry.

I have a simple redirect set up on my primary account domain (elsewhere) so it fowards all mail quickly to my mobileemail account, meaning it arrives on my Blackberry instantly. However, as this account is also in my BIS, it arrives again when the 15 min poll sets in. If I try to add any filters to stop it, it just stops all mail to that name.

I can't see any way around it...

hmm...gotcha i see what you mean
i'm going to assume you still have BIS 1.8 (you still have an inbox in the BIS site right?)

and what you want to do is send email using only your primary account - your default

so you have your "reply to" and "sent from" addresses set to this

to stop the duplicates - and still send using this remove your integration; you'll still get the email instantly and can sent the "sent from" and "reply to" to your defualt domain

no more duplicates

Hmm...making some sense. You've certainly understood what I am saying. Please bear with me, though. Yes, I am still on 1.8, though hopefull Vodafone in the UK will have 2.0 soon enough.

Can you please elaborate specifically on how I can 'remove integration' and how I can change the 'sent from' and 'reply to' by default to my main account (without having to change each mail individually).

Thanks,

well first the easy part - sign into your Vodafone BIS account ;)

then go to profiles -> other email accounts -> put a check next to your main account -> choose to delete

go back to profiles -> sent from address -> choose "i want to customize my sent from...-> enter your address -> click submit

go to options -> under "reply to" enter your main address -> click ok

and your good to go
