because this morning, it was raining really bad. my blackberry got soaked and now will not work properly. its a nextel 7520. it still cuts on, but it displays the wrong time, plus the keyboard and the wheel dont work. anyone ever had this happen to their blackberry and it made it out alive? im probably gonna be stuck having to replace it and that will really suck. not to mention, my ipod died today in the rain as well.. wow, what a bad day.

ps. will my sim card still work? and if it doesnt after getting a new blackberry, will a restore of all the data i backed up be enough?

I had an Ipaq pocket pc that was ruined by water. A $500 loss.
Good news for you is you can get an 7520 off of ebay for less than $100.
I just upgraded my 7510 to a 7520 that I paid $67 on ebay, works great so far.
As for the ipod, maybe you might like the creative brand mp3 players, less than $100 and you can use AAA batteries instead of waiting to re-charge your batteries.I've been using the creative players for almost 2 years, I prefer them over the ipod.
btw, I do have an ipod 20gig that I don't use ,if you want to buy it, I guess I could sell it for $100.

Wirelessly posted (Cingular 7130c: BlackBerry7130/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

Your sim card should still work. And if you backed up last night you should have everything you did when you backed up on the new blackberry after you run the restore.

Sorry about the berry. It must have been a good storm-sounds like you got drenched. Check out this thread as soon as you can. Great tips for your situation. If you hurry and take the battery out you might be all right.
Good luck.

all is well!!!! i let the whole unit dry off for about 4-5 hrs with the battery and sim card out. the blackberry sat by the window and got nice and dry. popped everything back in, and sure enough it works perfectly fine again. matter of fact, one of the buttons i had been having trouble with actually works better.. thanks for all of your replies!!!
