Question About service book for GoogleTalk

Please Login to Remove!

hello everyone, I have GoogleTalk installed into my blackberry but there are no service book for it. Can somebody backup their service books and send it to me? Thank you for your attention.

To share service book is simple. Just backup service book alone from blackberry, save it as an .ipd file, and send the ipd file.

The service book has no personal/private infomation. You can help many people in the world which has no data plan to enjoy with Google Talk.

What are you smoking? I've got GoogleTalk on my Blackberry working fine and there's no service book for it. It's just an application. If it's not working for you, you may have other issues.

Wirelessly posted (Cingular 7130c: BlackBerry7130/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

No, when I first installed it, it told me I needed a service book. I just resent my service books and everything was fine. Its not for google specifically. Its for something else, but googletalk still needs it.

Ah I see. Probably one of the standard Internet service books then.

attbes, try just logging into your BIS and resending your service books. If that doesn't work, maybe you could be more specific about the problems you're experiencing and we could try to help.

Appears as if attbes does not have a data plan, wants to use GT and is attempting a workaround through the inclusion of the necessary service book(s) for GT. Not sure if that will work, but crafty nonetheless.

We have no data plan but managed to have opera/IMplus to work properly. Google Talk worth the try, although very difficult.

Which provider do you need the service books for?

Hey there, sorry to resurrect this thread, it just caught my attention while looking for a way to make GoogleTalk work on my BlackBerry.
Thing is, I didn't get the service books, even after going through most of what was described in the other threads and call my provider, it seems I'd have to check it with my BES admin (and frankly, I highly doubt he'll care, to put it the polite way ).

So anyway, if this workaround actually works, I'd be interested

I know I'm commenting on a very old post but I thought this one deserved a reply. The following service books are part of the GoogleTalk application:

Is this not the case on the Cingular network?

Hard to say if using someone else's service books would work but you would have the best success if you were able to aquire the service books that are from someone using the same Carrier/Device as yourself.

Yes, I know, though I wanted to try a few things out, like one would be replace the service books with the provided backup, then update the service books given through my provider by registering again (in hopes that it doesn't remove the additional service books).
I have absolutely no idea if that would work, but I guess if you don't try you'll never know If all fails I'd just put back my service books from a previous backup.

(all in all, I doubt to find someone on these forums from switzerland using swisscom as a provider and a working GT, but that's just me )
