| PocketDay Next Version Feature Suggestions? Please Login to Remove! Hello all,
We're looking for some suggestions for features to include in the next version of PocketDay. We have some in the works already which I can't disclose right now, but we're always looking to make PocketDay a better product and value users feedback.
Let us know what you would like to see in a future version.
Thanks,

| I would like the ability to have more than five "Mapped Applications." I know that it would require fewer shortcuts in other places of PocketDay, but each user could decide his or her preferences regarding shortcut keys.
Also, it would be nice to be able hide (and unhide) applications in the "Summary Screen" view. I know they can be set in options, but I would like an easier way to hide and unhide them from the main screen. For example, I would hide "My Stocks" on weekends.

| [1] Resolve the issue between PocketDay and the device firewall.
[2] Increase the default font size for the date and time. The PocketDay logo is currently larger than the display of date and time when it should be the other way around.
[3] Remove the PocketDay logo at the top section for registered users. Provides additional space for the larger display of date and time (see above) and the inclusion of the day of the week (see below). Also provides an an additional incentive to purchase PD. Or simply remove the logo outright.
[4] Add day of the week to the date and time display at the top section. Too often I find myself ESC switching to the default theme in order to check the day of the week.
[5] Remove carets when displaying ^DJI and/or ^IXIC in the My Stocks section. Saves one character space, or two if both ^DJI and ^IXIC are displayed together. Leaves more room for the numbers which matter.
[6] Support for the renaming of title fields (My Stocks, My Lists, My RSS).
[7] Hide the parentheses enclosing the contact name in the Missed Calls section. This would allow for four additional character spaces that could be filled by the full contact name and/or phone number. Contact and phone number information answer the questions: 1. Who? and 2. From where? and the display of such information is of great importance.
So instead of: 08/04 18:00 ( Contact Info ) 555-555-5555
We can see something along the lines of: 08/04 18:00 Contact Info 555-555-5555
And without the date field, we have: 18:00 Contact Info 555-555-5555
[8] Hide the date field in the Missed Calls section. See example above. This would allow for six additional character spaces that could be filled by phone number information. Contact and phone number information answer the questions: 1. Who? and 2. From where? and reveals more about a phone call than does a date.
So instead of: 08/04 18:00 ( Contact Info ) 555-555-5555
We can see something along the lines of: 18:00 ( Contact Info ) 555-555-5555
Or better yet (sans parentheses): 18:00 Contact Info 555-555-5555
[9] Addition of sub-menus. Additional features and options have led to a cluttered menu. Suggesting the use of additional sub-menus along the lines of the default Settings....
[10a] The addition of a Mapped App 6 Hotkey (and to a lesser extent, 7, 8 and 9) would be welcome.
[10b] The Phone App is redundant with the advent of the green Phone key.
[10c] Support for Middle Convenience Key to be mapped to something other than task switching.
[10d] Support for * and # as hotkeys.
[11] Display the current (phone) profile in the Missed Calls section. Too many of us set our profiles to quiet/silent/vibrate during meetings, movies, only to forget to revert them back to our default profiles afterwards. Perhaps on the Missed Calls title bar: Missed Calls (Quiet) Missed Calls (Vibrate) Missed Calls (Normal)
Note that there is no space between the parentheses and the profile name. This mirrors the appearance of how items are numbered in PD Lists: Example Task List (5)
[12] Lock the device using the native keyboard lock function. This allows a user to display owner information in the event the device is lost. For example, I have my owner screen set to:
Contact If Lost & Found:
Adam Lau @ 555-555-5555
Cash Reward If Returned
This improves the chance of a lost or stolen device being returned.
[13] Integration of Reply As New feature.
[14] Option to remove PocketDay from ALT + ESC application switch ribbon.

Thanks,
Kyle - PocketDay Support | Thank you for the opportunity to make suggestions...
One thing I really miss is the ability to have recurring tasks. Every time I check off a recurring task and forget that PocketDay cannot handle them, the recurring task is wiped off and I have to go back into Outlook 2003 and set it all up again.
Nice application...looking forward to the next version.

| All great suggestions. We'll try and get them all done. The recurring tasks is a BB limitation right now so we can't do anything about that.

| My wish list:
1. Be able to clear all missed calls with one button rather than one at a time. Clearing missed calls with a hot key would be even better for doing it one at a time.
2. Don't use the space bar to expand/collapse sections. It would be better it space bar paged down and alt-space paged up like other standard BB apps. Use a different key to expand/collapse.
3. How about num-space to skip to the next section, cap-space to go to the previous.
4. I'd rather PD use the native BB apps where possible. For example have it use the BB mail app when I select an email. Like the Enter key does now at the top of the section.
5. How about a PocketDay theme for the home screen where I can see an icon with a number for missed calls, appointments, messages and tasks on the top line followed by my BB application icons below it. Use the first four keys as hot keys to show the details for each section. For example, mail icon is first, press Q and it shows the unread messages, cancel side key brings you back.
6. Not sure if RIM has opened up the API to allow it, but better integration with the calendar fields such as "mark as private" within PocketDay.

| Add the ability to keep a phone call list linked to the address.
The idea being that you are picking up voicemails, and there are 3 calls to make. I want to be able to use the ToDo list, with a category for phone, but the ability to suck in the contact and phone information from the address book.
This would replace those pink phone slips I have on my desk.
Tks.

| I agree that integration with native apps is key. I can't tell you how many times in the email app I use shortcut keys to find they enter the letter. Sorry can't break the habit, so I tend to use it less. | | Offline

| native apps, esp. messaging...one thing that turns me off on the app right now is that if I have new emails, and I open it in the PD messaging app, I have no way to mark it unread if I want, which to me is a key feature of the native app. so, I'm always 'afraid' to open mail messages in PD and tend to escape out of PD (although I am a very new user, but this would be a big one for me). | | Offline

| PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make the damn thing work. It is really annoying to have a registered product which does not work with Weather or Stocks.
I have been onto support umpteen times, sent screen dumps, the whole bit but more recently once they've sent out the standard 'reset the firewall and remove the battery' email then they stop replying.
Other third party apps using the internet work just fine so why not PD?
You really SHOULD check out other products, some of which just auto config so no messing with settings, and still the thing doesn't work.
Otherwise it could be a great product!!

| An option to set the number of prior days displayed on Calendar in Today View. Maybe have it function like Tasks where past Calendar Items not deleted remain with a different font.
