Default Amazon selling Blackberrys for free?

Amazon is selling Blackberrys for free after rebates. Is it safe to buy from them? I can't imagine Amazon.com, one of the biggest sites on the internet, trying to scam the public. Is there a catch?

As a former Cingular Sales Manager, I heard horror stories about Amazon and Wirefly and such sites. Problems with accounts and other things. They wanted to return devices or have us fix their problems and all kinds of other things. Rebates were a big hassle too. Some people never got theirs.

Point blank. If it seems to good to be true, it is.

I bought a BB 8700g from Amazon a couple of weeks ago and had no problems. I have rebates that total $75 and have submitted them, but naturally I have to wait to see if there is a problem with that

I bought mine at wirelessbuy.com 8700g with two year contract for tmobile for $50 with $50 rebate.. so it's basically free. And I never really had any problem with it.

I got my 7130c from Amazon and have not had any problems. It seemed that as soon as my account was activated on Cingular I never had anything to do with Amazon again.

Pretty interesting how it all works out.

The title of this thread is an oxymoron, you can't "sell" something for free.
