Default password message from blackberry.com?

Please Login to Remove!

all,

I just got the following email from [email address]:

You have asked to have your password sent to your device. You password is xxxxxxx.

Now...the message was sent to my PIN#. Is someone trying to hack my account? Can someone steal this info while being sent to my pin? I'm not even sure where you ask for the password to be sent or what password they are sending. Thanks

Pritam

Sounds like your BIS account password. I had to have mine resent to me the other day and this is how I received it.

Someone would have to know your logon to the providers website, too (at least that's how Nextel works.... log into mynextel.com and then into my BIS account - which is where I had my password resent from ).

the only way to get that message on cingular is if someone asked to have the password sent. cingular offers an email account on on blackberry.net and when you login you can ask for the password if you forgot. Guess where the password will be sent. you guessed it.

I would be careful and protect my password or even change it ASAP

I don't think there is any real need to be concerned about this. I know that I logged into my BIS the other day for the first time in a long time, and I completely forgot my login information (username and password). I put in a couple of usernames I thought it may be, and said forgot password. All those people got the same e-mail as you...

Maybe it was me!!! LOL
