Does anyone know why or how the radio for a 7130e would turn off at night by it's self? The radio is on when I go to bed, but is turned off in the morning.

goto option>Auto On/off> and make sure that its says disabled.

It was already configured that way. Any other ideas?

is your battery near death in the morning? Also, is it connected to your Desktop Manager? I have noticed where it shuts off because of that (although I don't recall having that problem as of recently).

The device never is connected to a computer, it is synced to a bes server wirelessly. No the battery has plenty of power left. It just started a couple of nights a go.

I used to have the same issue. I believe it may have something to do with coverage. I would set my BB on the floor in my pants pocket at night and the radio would be off in the morning. I moved it to the dresser where it had adequate coverage and it no longer happened. I am not sure if they are set to turn off the radio after a certain time to stop it from draining battery trying to connect or what, but it's worth a shot.

Also, have you added anything recently to the BB??? Are other people on the same BES having the problem?

No nothing has been added to the BB and we have about 150 other people on the same bes, it is only three devices that I know of.

I will try to look at the signal to night.

I have some 7250's on US Cellular and we have seen this problem too.

It was a battery problem where the battery would report it was almost dead, even if it was not, the unit would turn the radio off.

We could not get the unit to be nice without removing the battery and replace.

This unit did not have the phone application installed and was a BB only, the USCC tech told me there was some problem with their Nortel switches that when the device did not place or receive a call after re-activating the transmitter there could be flakey results unless you removed the battery.

Under Settings there is a sub-category for Auto On/Off. Have you checked to see if that's set? There is a setting for weekdays and a separate one for weekends.

Yes I have looked at that. Both fields are set to disabled.

If I'm not mistaken, the auto on/off controls the whole device, not just the radio.

One of my users had the same issue... we replaced the battery and that fixed the problem.

I pulled the battery out of the device for thirty seconds and then put it back in. I haven't heard any more complants.

So it is fixed?
