Blackberry won't boot up.

My Blackberry was running sluggish today so I pulled out the battery to reset it and now the hour glass is just spinning. it's been an hour.
Any ideas?
It's fairly new.
is it broke?

Try pulling the battery and letting it sit for 20 minutes or so with it out.
