Default Transferring Contacts

Please Login to Remove!

I just upgraded to a Blackberry 7520 from a i860. I'm a newbie to the slang, but I'm pretty sure all of my contacts were saved to my sim card. Now, the same Sim Card has been moved from the i860 to the Blackberry 7520 but ZERO contacts come up.

** I already tried going to the address book but it says "No SIM PhBk" and when I "Copy All To Address Book", nothing happens.

Please help, this would be greatly appreciated and a giant help to my Blackberry upgrade. Thank you.

On a Motorola, you have the option to save to the phone or the SIM but once you select one, it always defaults to that first. Maybe you saved your first contact to your phone and all the contacts followed after that if you never changed it to save on the SIM. All your contacts might be on your phone and the SIM might really be empty.

Yeah but I started w/ a i730. Then I went to an i850, then to an i860, and now to a Blackberry 7520 all by using the Sim Card, transferring each and every contact phone after phone. There has to be a way to transfer the contacts from the SIM to the BB 7520, besides the way I already tried.

Thanks again for your time.

Can you sync your old phone with outlook, and then sync the berry with outlook?

Drop by a local Sprint store and have them perform the transfer with their SIM reader/writer tool.

Thanks, sounds good with the Sprint store.

Dr. Chillax ** Can you elaborate on that a little, I'm not sure exactly what you mean in detail. Thanks.

I have found that I also cannot copy a SIM from a ixxx phone to a 7520 blackberry. But what I did find out was that I can read the SIM in a 7100i. So one option you can do if you have a spare 7100i is to copy the sim to the 7100i, copy to address book, then back it up using the desktop manager and restore it onto the 7520. This worked for me.
