Calendar - "Agenda View"
 

I have my calendar's "Initial View" set to "Agenda." This allows me to see my upcoming appointments when I first view the calndar.

When I open the "agenda view" it shows 6 appointments, but four of them are in the past and only two are today or in the future. It would be much better to see only future appointments, or at least only appointments starting with today's date (even if earlier in the day).

Does anyone how to solve this problem?

First check that the date/time on your device is set correctly. The device will focus on the current day, and the current (or next) appt. However, I've noticed that it doesn't always put the current day at the top of the screen. I just opened my calendar, using Agend View, and today's date is near the bottom, but my next appt is highlighted.

No - that's my problem: it doesn't put today's date at the top of the screen. Thus, the top of the screen shows a bunch of appointments that happened in the ast few days. I expect that this is useless to most people -- I want to see what I have to do next, no what I've already done.

Even highlighting today's date and selecting "Delete Prior" does not fix the problem as past, but recurring, appointments still show up at the top of the page.

I see what you mean. Unfortunately, I don't think that can be changed.

I thought maybe it could be set to keep appointments for 0 days, but the shortest is 15 days, so that doesn't help.

Hi there... I do not have an answer but wanted to say I am having the same issue. My calendar set to view agenda and I'd like to bring up my next appt. Right now if I open it I go back to May 11, 2007. I have triple checked the setting of my time in the blackberry and also with Outlook. I am not on a BES connection. I just synched to my computer as well.

I had the same problem. There is a thread on it here, but if you put a dummy entry on the past date that is coming up when you open agenda, it should return you to the proper date the next time you open it. Some kind of bug I guess.

I'm not sure it's a bug. Every BB I've owned did that. I don't know what reason they might have, but I'm assuming this behavior is by design.

I think I was having this problem until I put it to where it would show the free time on my calendar and since then it brings up the current day, have you tried that at all?

I was able to figure it out for my situation. I synced it with Outlook. I opened the calendar in Outlook and filtered it by recurring appointments. Some of the appointments (the ones that were causing problems) were listed with a very odd end date. Something like in the year 4050. I had to update those to no end date and it solved the problem. There were about 10 of them - birthdays. I don't know how it got that end date but I just wated to post my fix here. Hope it helps.

Old Appointments
 

I delete my appointments/reminders at the end of each day. If not completed I reschedule for another day. That way there are no appointments to show in the past. I only have 3 to 10 a day, and most are not business related. I guess if you needed the previous ones for a record of some sort or had many appointments, this way would not work.

I didn't delete old appts... just changed the end date from whatever weird date was entered for recurring appts to "no end." That fixed it.

I think the issue involved calendar entry dates that occurred before one of the lat handheld upgrades. I simply cleaned out my handheld and resynced it with outlook which was mentioned in part above me.

Thanks for the tip - that fixed my agenda problem!
