Angry Fetching Certificates???

Currently, I've been thrown into the fire on this one but I have a user that h as a 7290 with an Apriva card reader. Everything was working fine until a few days ago when he sent a digitally signed and encrypted email. Everyone got the message but they couldn't open it on the desktop. So I researched it and found that i need to redo his certificates. Thing is on his blackberry it says that his certs are good. Now for the next day, he can't send a digitally signed or encrypted email to a user outside of his address book. It tells him its "Fetching Certificates" but it hangs then just does nothing. I'm thinking its not connecting to the server correctly. Yes, he has a strong signal and yes the info has been verified as correct. I'm kinda lost and I don't want to go through and reset the whole thing.. Any Ideas

set mds logging for verbose, log ldap and crl, or ocsp, or whatever. Restart MDS, test. Then, look at the logs.

Also, are you using LDAP settings on the handheld, or in mds?
