Default Web Browsing without a BB Data Plan ?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi to all!
I bought my 7290 with a BB Data Plan in Italy (TIM Operator) one year ago, but I decided to stop the plan cause it was too expensive.
I unlocked the Operator Block using a calculated code but now I can't see the Browser in the menu. I opened it using ALT-ESC, but it says that I have no browser settings... I tryed using WebViwer, but still doesn't connect!
It also dosen't connect to GPRS, but only to GSM!
It seems that Web Browsing is impossible without a BB Data Plan!
Can anybody help me please?

Thanks,
Binky

Sorry, friend.

No data plan = no data. Period. No e-mail. No web. No data.

Blackberry is not just a device, it's also a service. RIM recieves a portion of monthly fees from carriers. And they've carefully built their solution so that it will only work with their network.

Well put Jase88! BlackBerry's have to cummunicate through RIM's secure servers for data access, without a specific BlackBerry Data Plan you'll only have voice and SMS. Unfortunately there's no way around it.

Your first point is the carrier's server, your not directly connected to the internet. So you need a data plan

Another thought, be very careful which plan you select from a carrier. In most cases the unlimited plans keep you from excess cost if you over run a limited plan. Once you get going you will find many excuses to use the BB and not even realize how much you are using

Q F T

That is for sure. You will find more and more occasions to use it. Especially with fantastic programs like Berry411
