Hey folks, I'm new to this Blackberry stuff and I was hoping someone could help me out.

First of all, I have two Messages icons. One is listed as Messages, and it was there since I got the device. The other appeared after I registered my email, and it is listed as . The icon is slightly different, with the addition of a globe. Both of them receive the same messages, but my PIM reads data from the email address one. Is this normal? Is there a way I can remove one of them, or would this cause problems? I can hide the one with the email address, but it's kind of annoying how the PIM reads data from there.

Secondly, when I send emails from my BB I assumed that they would also be copied to my actual email address and end up in my Outlook Sent Item folder. Instead, whenever I send emails from my BB it ends up sending a copy to my Inbox, thereby forwarding a copy back to my BB. Is this supposed to happen?

The one icon that is just "Messages" has ALL of your messages in it, including email and missed phone calls, etc. The other is email address specific. You would have one of these for every email account you are getting mailed forwarded from. You can hide what you want.

As far as your PIM problem, I think you will need to go to the maker of the PIM to see if you can have it look elsewhere.

Go into options when in messages and change the general option, hide sent messages to yes. You should still get a copy only in your sent items folder. Also, make sure in your DM, under redirector settings, advanced, that the save copy in sent folder is checked.

Also, if you want to hide one messages folder or the other, click Alt-Trackwheel and choose "hide".

DM being Desktop Manager? I keep reading abot this redirector, but I can't find it anywhere (DM or on the BB email settings). Do I have to download it separately?

Okay, a bit more detail after playing around with this some more.

My company uses Kerio mail server. According to Kerio all I have to do is set my Webclient's (Rogers) BCC to my email address. Doing that would BCC my Blackberry sent mail straight to my email's Sent Items folder.

Unfortunately, this does not happen. It just goes to the inbox, and consequently gets forwarded back to my Blackberry.

I then tried adding filters to Kerio. The first filter takes any incoming mail that was sent from my Blackberry email and moves it to my Sent Items folder. The second filter is the one that forwards all incoming mail to my Blackberry email.

Furthermore, since I use Outlook, I created a rule that any emails from my Blackberry address would be moved to my Sent Items folder.

And the end result? On Kerio and Outlook, mail sent from my Blackberry does indeed end up in the Sent Items folder... but I'm still forwarded a copy to my Blackberry! This is driving me crazy!
