Default Outlook Calendar Reminders

Please Login to Remove!

Before posting this question, I did try searching the Forums with not much luck.

We use BES and I have a 7250. Set to wireless synchronization. Everything seems to sync except for the calendar Reminders in Outlook. Whether I dismiss or snooze makes no difference. We restart BES on a regular basis, and I restart my pc regularly as well. No effect on reminders sync.

Has anyone experienced this?

Joe

I'm confused (which is my usual state lately). Can you give us an example of what isn't working?

Like - you get an appt in Outlook, accept it, and it shows on your calendar is both Outlook and the BB. The reminder appears in Outlook, but not on the BB....something like that.

When I input an item in the Outlook calendar, it does show up in my BB calendar. And when I input an item in my BB, it does show up in my Outlook calendar. The problem arises when I "snooze" or "dismiss" a reminder. THAT does not synchronize. For instance, I dismiss a reminder in my BB. It remains as an open item in the Outlook calendar.

To further isolate the problem, when I change the time of an existing calendar item, it synchronizes correctly (whether the change is initiated in the BB or Outlook calendars)! Only the dismissal or snoozing of the reminder is the problem.

Hmm, I've never had those sync on either of my Blackberries (each on different BES servers).

Has anyone figured this out? I have 1 of 9 7250's doing this right now. All are on same version of software, running through my BES. RIM's solution is upgrade device software. Why would only 1 unit have a problem if everyone is running the same version? This only started happening to this 1 handheld about a week ago. Besides, last time I did version upgrade on handheld, there was a lot of turmoil over the changes.

None of ours have ever synced those. I just assumed it was designed that way.

reminders don't sync. They are event local to the client.

Acutally, it is not syncronizing the reminders I'm talking about. It is that the reminders on the device are not "triggering" or whatever you want to call it. They pop up on his laptop on Outlook, but do not pop up on his 7250. Everything worked (including remiders popping up) until last week. I can not find any changes that happened.

Did you try clearing the calendar database and resync it? Try this

1) Disable wireless sync
2) Clear calendar by using Backup/restore --> Advanced
3) Use Intellisync to sync once
4) Enable wireless sync

Well, problem solved but only by the generation of a mystery.
The user's profile on the server was well over 500MB. His laptop was not shutting down and sync'ing correctly. I trimmed down his profile and now everything works great, including the reminders. So, problem is solve but for the life of me I can't figure out why an oversized (or corrupt??) roaming profile on the server would have anything to do with Outlook reminders on his BlackBerry.
Anyway, thanks for the replies.
