Default 8700g cracked screen

Please Login to Remove!

Hi All,

Less than one week after my purchase, I have already hurt my BB. I had it in my pocket, and hit the side of a door. It cracked the clear plastic that protects the screen :(

So I am trying to find a cheap way to replace it. I have insurance (tmobile), but they want a $110 deductible, and after reading the contract, looks like they would consider it cosmetic and not replace it.

Does anybody know of a good source for a broken 8700g, or at least the front housing? I did put a request in the Buy/Sell forum, but no luck yet. I also saw ProMobility, but shipping is quite expensive from canada.

Oof.. Good reason to carry your Blackberry in a holster.

Some people have purchased dummy display Blackberries on eBay and used them for housing parts. However, from what I've heard certain dummies can't be used for parts as they're one piece.

Default sells housings for the 8700c and 8700g. You can purchase just a front cover for $40 or an entire housing for $79. If you order, be sure to specify that its for an 8700g (not "c").
Currently: 8700g
