Default Verizon BES or BIS, or does BES Data contain both

Please Login to Remove!

Well I searched a bit and need some info. Currenty I am about to purchase the 8700e, however I need to be steered in the right direction.

I was looking at cingular's website and they have a 29.99 plan and a 44.99 plan, i presume that its BIS and BES respectively.

I am currently with verizon, have about 3-4 phones with them, and need to find out if my only option is to choose the 44.99 data plan when I purchase my 8703e.

Does that 44.99 plan contain BIS and BES service. I don't have a corporate server to use, I just need to be able to receive yahoo, or gmail emails (pushed) directly to my phone, without pressing send/receive. Is there some other service that verizon offers for personal?

thanks

j.

I use the 7130e (waiting for the 8703e) and had a 7250 on the vzw. I have no corporate server and have no problems receiving any emails from all of my accounts. It was easy to set up out of the box. I have the 2100 family plan plus $44.99 data. Hope this helps!

from what you are asking, sounds to me like the bis would do just that. VZW's bis would push gmail, yahoo, hotmail plus or any other pop3 account to your blackberry every 15 minuted or so. If thats not what you need, let me know and I'll try and help...

plus VZW has bundle plans, which discounts the data plan as long as you have a voice plan...

thanks for the info guys.

i have a family plan with 4 phones so i doubt i could get a discount on the data its not a new single plan.... however I am looking to get emails forwarded to the blackberry right when i get them in my gmail, yahoo, or other email account. I heard with BB you get emails right away(unlike send/receive with xv6700), a buddy of mine has the 29.99 BIS plan from cingular with the 8700 and when i send him an email he gets it instantly, doesn't wait 15min. i presume verizon and cingular have the same blackberry bis functions?

cingular recently upgraded their BIS server but gmail has "instant" support, he also may have his gmail account being forwarded to his ...@mycingular account which would also make seem instant. I have read about the gmail and cingular thingm you may want to search this forum and see what you find...

$44.99 instead of $49.99 with voice plan and all i did was ask for the discount for the plan. you will not have any problems at all! I did not say anything about BIS or BES when I did this.

The 2 VZW Data Plans are:
10MB - $30 a month
Unlimited - $50 a month

If you have voice service on the same line, you discount those prices by $5 a month. With this, the data is an add-on and can be removed at any time.

They also have bundle plans for single lines with voice and data that discount it even further. With this, the data is part of your contract, and may not be removed.
