Looks like new users only have the option for BIS 2 now. I guess migration for 1.8 users will follow later...

RIM are not too keen on a mass migration. My thinking is that if people want to switch to BIS 2.0 then they'll have to speak to their provider to get their existing account deleted so they can add their device PIN to a new 2.0 account.
