Lightbulb Google maps / Multimap for UK Blackberry?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

I was wondering whether any UK blackberry owners know of a Google maps / Multimap / Streetmap.co.uk type website that works well with the Blackberry (8700v) browser - this would be a fantastic tool when visiting clients etc.

Thanks in advance,

Aljrob

Hi

I installed Google Maps for mobile on my blackberry 7290, and it works very well. Can get map view or satellite view as well as searching for road names, postcodes, etc......

To install, on your blackberry browser, go to:

google.com/gmm

This might be useful for you.

Joe

Google maps is worldwide. OTA download on Google Maps

When it first starts up it begins in the US, but enter a UK postcode and you're off!!

Interesting. Now all I have to do is convince my IT department to let me install it...

Is there a working web alternative if they won't allow it?

Ps - thanks for the help guys

Talking Have you tried the PDA version of Mapquest

Have you tried the PDA version of mapquest, not sure on the coverage. Both the links for Mapquest PDA and Google maps can be found on BBerryOne.

Hey i downloaded google maps for my vodafone blackberry 7100v and installed it fine. But when i went to start the program after it loads i get an error message saying network unavailable then telling me to go to google.com/gmm on my computer to reconfigure my blackberry to work. however on the google site it says to go into:
Access Options > Service Book or Tools > Settings > Service Book on your device
Delete the entry "IPPP for 5 Click (IPPP)" or "E-mail set up [IPPP]"
Access Options > Host Routing Table or Tools > Settings > Host Routing Table
Click "Register Now"

However "IPPP for 5 Click (IPPP)" or "E-mail set up [IPPP]" is not there!? Has anyone else had this problem?
