Do you have to take the old contract's phone number and have different people mistakingly call you?
good question, I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW. I think a phone call needs to be made to these people to get some more info. Because if you can keep your phone number, that is huge and makes a contract meaningless.
I just checked into this. Verizon users can change the "contract liability" for $15. Unfortunately the number stays with contract, but according to the mgr i talked to, you can request they chane the number for you.
Sprint is full of crap at the stores. I talked to the mgr there and he gave me a song and dance routing. However, customer retention did fess up eventually, that all mobile operators have to allow you to transfer "contract liability". Though i never did get the Sprint fees.
Cingular, they dont mind, but they will do it. the mgr told me Cingular will do it for $25.
What exactly are you trying to accomplish with this? Are you saying in essence that i can sign a 2 year contract, use this service to get out of it, and keep my phone and service intact? I don't know, it sounds a little too good to be true. What about the early termination fees, won't they apply since you're getting out of the contract?
How it works is it basically posts an 'ad' on your contract and resells that. So I have 6 months left on cingular and want a tmo contract? I let them know, they post my 6 month contract on their site, contact cingular and do the name switch for me, and sell me someone elses Tmo contract.
