I have a an email setup on my 7230 and its all working.
In my home screen, next to my email icon name (email profile name NICK) there is a message count that looks like

NICK(-4)

When I open my inbox, I only see 1 message.
What is that count showing? Deleted messages?
How do I zero it?

Take the battery out for 30 seconds. If that doesn't help you will need to perform a security wipe and reactivate/restore.

I wonder if it has to do anything with reconcoliation of the BB and remote mailbox.
