Default Yet anothe Gmail topic :-)

Please Login to Remove!

Hi everyone,
I am new to the BB world, and new on this forum.

I have been playing with my new BB 7290 all weekend, and after reading a few Gmail topics on this forum, I still wanna double check a few things:

1. I have the Gmail forwarding filter setup to my Tmobile BB address.

2. I also have the "-myname@gmail.com" filter setup

And the way it works is when I send an email to my Gmail addy, it delivers it to my BB but it also keeps a copy, unread, in my Gmail inbox. Is that how it should function?

I mean I cant get it to mark the email READ in GMAIL, as soon as I read it on my BB? Do I have to login in to Gmail eventually and mark my messages unread?

Did I miss a step somewhere?

Thanks!

Nope, you didn't miss any steps. Unfortunately, there's no way (even with BIS 2.0) to do read/unread reconciling with Gmail. Hopefully that will come in the future (are you reading this, Google and RIM?).

Do you have the account integrated or as you say, set a forwarding rule to your TMO address?

If the latter then of course it won't work.

You need to integrate your Gmail account into My T-Mobile and then it should work.

I know because I have it set like that although only deletes work for mine and that's it.

I have tried using the integration method, using Pop and Gmail, but I then everytime I reply to someone on my BB using Gmail, I get a copy of that message on my BB too. Could not figure out the way to disable that.

I have a filter on my gmail integration with the following fields:

Apply filter when: "From" field
Contains: <my email address>

I haven't received any sent items that I sent from my Outlook or through gmail.
