Question Setting up 'template' emails?

Please Login to Remove!

We're about to deploy around 50 7920s to some mobile technicians in the UK. The plan is to use email as a replacement for SMS, which the techs currently use to send in updates on their service calls for the day. In order to use email, there are 7 or 8 fields that need to be identified within the email (i.e. time, date, fault description etc). The simplist way would be to have a 'template' saved, where all the field headings are pre-typed, and the tech just enters the information, however I can't find an easy way to do that on the BB.

Any ideas? I realise this post is a bit vague, but hopefully it's clear enough!

Thanks!

Pete

This also refers to this issue, though I've not really found a solution yet...

there's a decent solution: autotext.

settings -> autotext.

create a new entry.

in the 'replace' field, enter the text to trigger the template, like "faulttemp" - something uncommon.

in the 'with' field, enter the template fields, with appropriate spacing/formatting.

like -

date:

fault:

description:

etc. etc.

and hit save.

compose an email message, type the word faulttemp, and hit space - it will load the text as specified in the 'with' field automatically - ie. your template.

That would be very helpful, I too use message over and over. It would be so much easier to have templates saved.
