Verizon released the 8703e. Unlocked phone allows say a 8700c to work on any network I believe. There are quite a few threads you can search that will explain in more detail.

The Cingular/T-Mo phones will not work on the Verizon network, even if they are unlocked. Cingular and T-Mo are GSM based where as Verizon and Sprint/Nextel are CDMA based. Not compatible at all.

In theory an unlocked Cingular 8700c will work on a T-Mo network and an unlocked T-Mo 8700g will work on the Cingular network. However it is up to the carriers to let the phone on the network.

Also keep in mind that some carriers, Sprint is one I think, will only allow Sprint branded phones on their network.
