Default Former Treo User Seeks Alarm and Today Screen

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

I am a long time Treo user, and I am now using an 8700. I am looking for something that I loved about my Treo that I don't have on the 8700.

I had a program called Butler to handle many of my tasks on the Treo. One of these tasks was my alarms. Butler has six or so ery customizable alarms. One of the great features is that you can choose an application to launch when any one of the alarms activated.

I had my morning alarm set to open a today screen, showing the weather, items in my inbox, appointments for the day, and tasks due that day. I want to set up my Blackberry to do the same.

My two thoughts are that I need either a new alarm program with this option or that I need a today screen that runs nicely in the background without interfering with the functionality of the device. Does anyone have any ideas about this? I will greatly appreciate any help that can be offered.

Thanks,
Eric

I did look at PocketDay, and it looks like a pretty good piece of software, but how can I set my 8700 up to launch the software when my alarm goes off?

There's also an app called Notifier. Do a search in the Aftermarket area.

There is an option in the Pocket Day settings that allows you to set a time for the unit to automatically go to PD. I have mine set at 10 minutes so regardless what I was doing last, phone calls etc. after 10 minutes of idle it pops up PD automatically. That might help you. I can tell you you won't be disappointed with Pocket Day, I have been using it for a while and the upgrades and support are awesome!

Also, there is an alarm program on the BB, do you want more than that?

Thanks for the help. The only thing I don't like about the alarm is the fact that I can't make it launch a program. I've tried today screens that run continuously, but I just want to see what I've got scheduled that day as soon as I wake up. I know I'm being kind of picky here, but I really grew to love this feature with my Treo.

Yeah I would do the same thing with my treo.....then wait as it resets AGAIN...I quickly got over missing that function.
