I am in my third month of owning a Cingular 8700c that I ordered set up with the unlimited data, and "World Traveller" package. My first and second month's bills were $250. Last month I spent a week in Mexico (the area I told the sales rep I usually go to, when I ordered the World Traveller plan in the first place) and now I got a bill for almost $500. Is this normal? It seems excessive, in particular because the sales rep had told me I would never see a bill higher than $75-$95 per month.

Is something wrong, or do blackberry bills really go this high when you travel into other countries? I hardly made any voice calls at all, I only use the bb for data, and not much, at that. Help!

The best thing to do is call Cingular and ask them what's going on. They should explain everything why your bill is this high. The first one is usually high tho... but yea just give them a call to clarify some things. Goodluck!

I have the unlimited international data plan at $65/month + a hosted BES. Since I got the BES account, my problems with Cingular's billing errors are gone.

Before I got the BES, I was on the phone with Cingular for several hours after each new bill arrived. Cingular CS has real problems with BB service.

Do your bills not indicate what's driving the cost up? Yours do seem to be a bit high. My base bill for a shared voice plan with 2100 minutes and two Blackberries with BES data access is about $210 after taxes and fees.

You do know while you're out of your home country calls that go to voicemail are billed at double the international roaming rate, right?

takeshi has a good point. Cingular's international voice charges are not connected to the BB charges. I use by BB when out of the US if I must, but am prepared for the bill when I get it.

I pay Cingular voice + 64.99 for international BB, comes to about $120/month (unless I roam from out-of-country with voice). Then I pay link2exchange $20/month for BES.

So if you bill has a few $100 of voice charges, you've been robbed by Cingular, but it's in the contract. If voice charges are that high, you should get a local SIM and a cheap GSM phone when you travel.

Actually no I hardly ever use voice, my bills are up in the $500 per month range and all I am using is bb data (email, internet etc.) In Mexico (via Telcel GSM) my cingular sales rep said this would be covered under the unlimited plan, I don't get it

do you use 3rd part apps? If so, are you using the wap.cinuglar apn? do you see extra DATA USAGE charges on your bill?
