Default Help...Is this Safe????

I posted a question before on this site regarding my 8700g not working properly. The thread is:

http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...-sim-card.html

So because my T-Mobile is out of warranty and I can not get it replaced for free, I will need to pay for a refurb one. The cost is pretty high. So for the time being, my cousin gave me her brother inlaw's 8700r. The problem is that I don't want him to know I have it. Long story.

Anyways, I have wiped the BB unit clean and I was wondering, is there a way he or his company will know that I have it and using it? Through the IEMI or PIN????

Give it back to your cousin because it seems like you cousin brother-in-law does not owned the BB, the company does.

Company can report it stolen or lost. The Pin is the identifier for that particular BB.

O would make sure that it not company owned before doing anything

Thanks for the reply. I was actually pretty hesitant to take the BB unit but she told me that each purchase there own as they are sales people and they just expense it. Not exactly sure what that means but, he has a new BB Unit. I think he has the new Pearl Unit..Demo unit I think. So basically he has not used this BB Unit in over 3 months. Apparently, he was not to happy with the style and feel of the unit and like the other ones. So has for the company owning it, they do not. Also, there is no IT Policy on the phone. I guess this is a plus???
