I use both

google maps for directions
berry411 for everything else

google maps is too slow for me to use it as a search tool.

I had Google Maps before Berry 411 and since I got it haven't used Google Maps since. Berry 411 is so easy. Just type in the name and you get everything you need. And I think it loads faster.

I have both...use google maps for directions, traffic and maps. Really like Berry 411 the quick access to the cool plugins...always something new to add or drop...i like the phone# lookup feature, pdaportal(over 600 mobile friendly sites) etc.....

I see your point in not wanting to have 2 direction apps but I think both offer something unique. Just my .02

berry 411 is a necessity. it's a simplistic program. especially with the overload theme .google maps is very good. but i find myself using berry 411 a lot more. there both good programs though, it boils down to individual preference.

Tried to download Berry 411 but got a message telling me I had insufficient space. Anyone tried to load it on a 7730? I don't want to start deleting programs if I still end up without enough memory to load it.

Check your memory by going into options and status. I checked berry411 and it requires about 51000 of memory.

Not entirely true. I use it for locating businesses as well as looking up phone numbers. Additionally, Google Maps offers traffic conditions in certain cities.

...and yes, I use Berry411 as well.

I am aware of that....But berry411, I find to me much more efficient in the directory area...

and of course, traffic...but because berry411 does not offer traffic, there's no comparison

When you do a search for a particular business it also displays location results and the phone number. It's really handy in my opinion. Even though I may know how to get to particular business it's great for looking up the phone#.

Just wanted to add that Berry411's maps are not as good as Google''s maps, so I often end up using both apps for those hard to find businesses.

As someone who uses Google maps while on the road often, I don't care for Berry411 for driving directions. In google maps, I can efficiently input my current location and my destination and get the directions. With Berry411, you have to set up locations in your profile before running a search. I know you can set up other locations, but it takes extra keystrokes and its just more efficient for me to use the google maps in that situation.

If I was interested in directions from the same couple locations all the time, Berry411 would be fine.
