I think the OP is saying he wants input from anyone using Blackberry Connect on a phone like the Nokia E61. Seems like he fears RIM's servers going down and thinks another brand of phone will still get Blackberry service. Unfortunately, if RIM's servers go down, then BB Connect will stop working as well.

Blackberry Connect is very difficult to make work on these other phones. And when it does work there are limitations that you don't face if you use a real Blackberry. Attachments often fail to come through for one.

I recall reading on another forum that folks were getting Blackberry Connect to work on the new Sony Ericsson M600. It took a lot of trial and error, searching for sources from which to download the software, and then to install the package once downloaded. A few folks seemed to succeed, but then SE came out with a firmware update and the newly installed BB Connect wouldn't work anymore. No one seemed able to downgrade the firmware or find a version of BB Connect that worked with the new firmware. The carriers and Sony Ericsson seemed to point the finger at eachother, no solution found. The consensus was to wait for an "officially released" version of BB Connect either by your carrier or Sony Ericsson.

Default Hmmm

I think well but I write bad...that`s a problem ! Let me put this way : I have a BB 8700g with Orange Blackberry plan ( 30Mb for 28 $ monthly ) but I`m not satisfed with my device ( battery life too short , no 3G , no streaming on tv live , etc )...Nokia e61 does anything on that things and my thought is to change the terminal ( BB )...does anyone used another device or anyone used just BB ??

Well I ordered two E70-2 Nokia units expecting to use BB COnnect and sadly, there is no such software ready for these phones. Sold them both. I have a friend who does use BB connect and says it works OK but still prefers the BB hardware to the Nokia.

Do not think RIM has anything to fear, they are selling Nokia the right to use BB COnnect

While I've really liked all the Nokia phones I've ever used this is why Nokia isn't "number one" with me at the moment.

I do agree the nokia phones are the best, but for push e mail they are not. i have the BB 8700c and its great. i also own a nokia 9300, 9500, and the E62 they are all great phones. but the only one that i thought that worked great was the 9500 with the blackberry connect, but nokia still has issues with attacment files and downloading them or viewing some. as for the E61 its a great phone but its a little slow when going from screen to another. the battery life is the best i have seen in a while. again there is issues with files in the email nokia is not friendly in that area. where the blackberry just downloads most files and opens it. the ncie thing about the E is that it has the wifi well mine does the cingular model does not. if you are getting the E to replace the Blackberry u will not like it it will not do half the job that the blackberry does and this is coming from a person that loves nokia phones. if you have any questions please send me a message or post one
